MM Romance New Release: Scenes from Adelaide Road by Helena Stone

I’m pleased to host Helena Stone today in celebrating her new release, Scenes from Adelaide Road. I had the absolute pleasure of beta reading Lennart and Aidan’s story, and love that they are now out in the world for all of you to become enamored with. Without further ado…

COVER

About Scenes from Adelaide Road

Can a young man find the courage he never knew he had when faced with losing everything he holds dear?

A few months before his final exams in secondary school, nineteen-year-old Lennart Kelly discovers he’s inherited a house on Adelaide Road in Dublin from a grandfather he never knew. Having been ignored, bullied and abused for as long as he can remember, Lennart can’t wait to leave behind his father and the small town he grew up in. Moving away as soon as he finishes his exams doesn’t cure his deep-rooted insecurities though.

Meeting twenty-three-year-old Aidan Cassidy in a gay club on his second night in Dublin, scares Lennart. Used to being ignored and ridiculed, he doesn’t trust the attention he receives and can’t believe a man like Aidan could possibly be interested in him. It takes infinite patience and understanding from Aidan to slowly coax Lennart out of his shell.

But the past refuses to stay where it belongs and Lennart’s father is determined to take the house in Dublin off his son by whatever means necessary. Just when Lennart is learning to trust and embrace life, a violent attack threatens everything he holds dear. Suddenly Lennart is in danger of losing his house, the man he’s grown to love and maybe even his life. If Lennart wants to protect Aidan and safeguard his future, he’ll have to find the courage he never knew he had.

Excerpt

We didn’t talk as we walked up the stairs or while we crossed the landing. I gestured for Aidan to walk into my room first, followed him in, turned, closed the door and froze. Panic settled deep in my stomach. What the fuck am I doing? The question screamed through my mind.

“Hey, what’s wrong?”

His breath caressed my shoulder. He stood just behind me. I imagined I felt his body heat on my skin.

“We don’t have to do this.”

Yes we do. I needed to follow this through so badly it hurt. I had to find my way back to the heat-driven confidence I’d felt before we’d climbed the stairs.

Aidan’s embrace restored some of my inner peace. His arms around my waist made me feel safe and his naked body, softly pressing into mine, underscored how badly I wanted this closeness and yet I still couldn’t bring myself to speak or turn around.

I grabbed one of his hands and pulled it lower until it touched my straining cock. My body might be able to tell him what I couldn’t bring myself to put into words.

“Okay.” He chuckled behind me. “So it’s not that you want to stop.”

“No, please don’t stop.” His gentle strokes sent waves of pleasure through my body.

“I won’t, unless you ask me to. Tell me what’s wrong though.”

My cheeks heated up as I tried to formulate an intelligent answer before blurting out the truth. “I don’t know what to do.”

“Look at me.” He released my cock and turned me around before resting his forehead against mine. “You don’t have to do anything. You can’t really get this wrong. If it feels good, it is good.”

His lips caressed mine. When his tongue traced the outline of my mouth, my fears evaporated and I pushed in closer, looking for the intimacy I’d never experienced before and craved like life-sustaining sustenance. His chest hairs tickled my bare body. When our cocks made contact heat flashed through me. The last of my fear evaporated as curiosity grew stronger.

About the Author

ME 6Helena Stone can’t remember a life before words and reading. After growing up in a household where no holiday or festivity was complete without at least one new book, it’s hardly surprising she now owns more books than shelf space while her Kindle is about to explode.

The urge to write came as a surprise. The realisation that people might enjoy her words was a shock to say the least. Now that the writing bug has well and truly taken hold, Helena can no longer imagine not sharing the characters in her head and heart with the rest of the world.

Having left the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam for the peace and quiet of the Irish Country side she divides her time between reading, writing, long and often wet walks with the dog, her part-time job in a library, a grown-up daughter and her ever loving and patient husband.

Their world is crumbling on the King’s shoulders.

Elliot is missing.

George has failed and his demons are threatening to swallow him whole.

Jesse’s life is slipping through his fingers.

Zac is doing everything he can, but he’s plagued with flash backs of a life he can’t remember.

Can they get it together to save themselves or Elliot?

Excerpt

It was dark when he stepped out into the back entrance of the penthouse. His footsteps echoed through the halls as he walked. George should be in bed as he was generally an early riser, but Jesse half expected him to be consoling his pain with a slave.

He paused in front of the play room, swallowing hard. What if his actions had been the final straw in George moving on? What if…

It was too painful to finish the thought. He set his hand on the handle, telling himself he could face what he found inside. He turned it silently and pushed the heavy door forward. It was dark inside, only the lights of the city illuminating the toys spread over the massive wall. The door was soundproof, but now that it was open, all he heard was the light snore of a slave. He closed the door quickly and then pressed a hand into his aching chest. He stalked forward, seeing the flicker of a fire on the wall as he approached the living room.

He stepped around the corner to find George looking pensive staring into the fire, drink in hand. He paused, waiting for an invitation. One never came. George acted as though he didn’t see him. Jesse opened his mouth, but he didn’t know what to say. There wasn’t an apology that could even cover the pain he’d put George through.

He fell to his knees. “Forgive me,” he whispered.

George didn’t respond. Jesse fell forward pressing his forehead into the cool hardwood floor. Warm hands closed around his arms, dragging him to his feet, and he was enveloped in George’s arms. His eyes started to mist, and he couldn’t catch a full breath. It was all too much to bear. He’d left his heart when he left George, and there were no words for what it felt like to be back here. He buried his face in George’s neck and wrapped his arms around him. George kissed every spot he could reach on Jesse in their position.

It was so much more than dominant and submissive like this. Jesse’s heart ached. The pain radiated through his bones. He’d been holding off losing it for so long he hadn’t even realize how bad the pain had gotten, how numb he’d been.

About J. R. Gray

When not staying up all night writing, J.R Gray can be found basking in the warm glow of the Miami sun, or at the gym where it’s half assumed Gray is a permanent resident. A dominant, pilot, and sword fighting enthusiast, Gray finds it hard to be in the passenger seat of any car. Gray frequently interrupts real life, including normal sleep patterns, to jot down nonsense. The bane of Gray’s existence are commas, and even though it’s been fully acknowledged they are necessary, they continue to baffle and bewilder.

If Gray wasn’t writing…well, that’s not possible. The buildup of untold stories would haunt Gray into an early grave or possibly a mental institution where the tales would end up on the walls in crayon and finger paint.

BLURB:

Because sometimes it takes some distance to finally see what’s right in front of you…

Tyler Mitchell has worked hard to rebuild his life after his family kicked him out. A culinary student and sous chef who spends his spare time volunteering with kids, he’s happy enough even though he has no time to consider a relationship.

Trevor Pratt is finally getting over losing his best friend and the one person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, but it’s taken screwing every cute guy in Manhattan to get there. He’s vowed to repair the friendship he endangered, but that’s hard to do when his friend’s new employee catches his eye. Despite being warned to stay away from Tyler, Trevor knows the sous chef is more than just a hookup.

Romance is a terrible idea. Trevor is ten years older and a relentless playboy. Tyler is still unsure of his place in the world. Neither of them is ready for life-changing love, but as things heat up, their chemistry in the bedroom might just take that decision out of their hands.

Read about Ethan and Jamie’s romance in In the Raw and In The Fire, Books 1 & 2 in the In The Kitchen Series, available now!

EXCERPT:

I threw him a dirty look over my shoulder as we walked out of the diner. “Okay. So I might have had my dad’s Platinum AmEx card to help me out, but I struggled just like the rest of my classmates.”

Tyler’s low, deep laugh hit me in all the right, and wrong, places. “Poor baby. I’m sure it was hard to choose between the double shot extra whip latte and the regular Joe Blow latte.”

God, it was good to hear him laugh. “Hey now. Leave my double shot latte out of this,” I shot back as I unlocked the doors to the Mercedes coupe I’d rented.

His laughter slowly faded as I pulled out of the parking lot. I had only been to Ethan’s old place a few times when Jamie had first moved back to Seattle and before they had bought a new condo together. But Tyler made sure to keep me on the right track with directions, his voice getting softer and softer the closer we got to the apartment.

I pulled up to the curb, letting the car idle instead of parking and walking him to his door. As much as I found myself not wanting the night to end, it wouldn’t have been smart to push whatever this was. Anyone else? We’d already be upstairs with Tyler’s pants around his ankles and my mouth on him. But he wasn’t just anyone else.

Tyler, who had been staring out his window, slowly turned toward me. The soft lights of the dash barely illuminated his face. God, he looked young, innocent and worth every ounce of protectiveness he brought out in the people who cared about him.

“Thanks for the ride. And dinner. It was nice.”

He turned again and reached for the door handle.

“Hey, Tyler. Wait up.”

A little bit about Veil of Scars:

Steven is tall, dark and damaged. He doesn’t let anyone close, comfortable on the outside of normal life where he can hide his scars behind a wall so high that nothing gets through…except them. Despite a childhood marred with black and blue, he’s survived and moved in with his two best friends, Sam and Charlie.

Life should get better, but it was Sam who held him when the dark threatened to swallow him whole, Sam who gave him a place that felt like home, and Sam who knew every scar and every broken place.

And it’s all been taken away with Charlie sharing Sam’s bed.

Without his former confront, Steven realizes what’s been hiding in the deep corners of his heart, and the truth sinks him like a weight. He’s in love with one or maybe both of his roommates. Navigating unrequited love tears Steven apart and brings him to the precipice, and he has to choose: his feelings or Sam’s…and Charlie’s?

Here is a sneak peek from Veil of Scars:

“Charlie coming home from the party, too?” I didn’t dare to hope.

“She didn’t go. She’s pulling an all-nighter in the library with a group for a project or something or other.” He shrugged.

Maybe I would get a stolen night. One like old times.

We sat there for a while in silence, not quite wrapped up in one another but taking comfort from the other’s body heat. I closed my eyes. Even on the sofa a night in his arms was bliss.

“Want to go to bed?” Sam asked, rousing me from the light sleep I had slipped into.

“Yeah, sorry.” I got to my feet, cheeks flushing a bit, realizing I’d just fallen into something that wasn’t a reality anymore. In seven months there had been a few stolen nights with my best friend, but living with Charlie had put a stop to how we once were.

His brows fell, and he looked up at me before getting to his feet. I was turning to head to my room when he grabbed me by the hand, lacing his fingers through mine. I stopped, looking up to search his face.

He didn’t say a word as he led me to the bed he shared with her. I couldn’t help the smile that spread over my lips. The dark gave me the cover I needed to watch him pull the polo off his broad shoulders and cast it aside. I kicked out of my jeans and added my shirt to his on the floor, before crawling into bed.

The assured way he scooted in after me, coming up from behind to wrap his arms around my body, gave me a pain in the middle of my chest I couldn’t explain. I leaned back into his bare skin, and a calm washed over me. Within moments, it was like the nervous bundle of energy that had been wound inside me for months started to dissolve.

He tucked his head in next to my shoulder and whispered, “Goodnight,” against my skin.

Strangers in the Night by Jaycee Edward & Helena Stone

SITN

The Drive-by Promo

“I’m so excited! Wanna know why? Jaycee Edward and Helena Stone are going to stop by and tell us all about their new novella, Strangers in the Night. I know you all have so many questions, and so do I. I hope they bring their guys with them to the party ~waggles eyebrows~ don’t you? I mean, what would a book release celebration be without the authors and their men??

They should be here any minute, but they don’t know everyone’s out back, so grab a drink for yourself, and I’ll go check the front for them.”

Walking through the kitchen, I grab a bottle of water and hear a door snick closed. A few moments later… tires squeal from a vehicle speeding away. “That’s odd. Everyone’s supposed to be out back.” I head into the living room and set my water on the coffee table. It’s then I notice the envelope. I open it, pulling out a pristine [and gorgeous] copy of Strangers in the Night, and a note of apology from Jaycee and Helena about not being able to stay to answer questions, and– who’s in my house arguing? The note from Jaycee and Helena forgotten, I go to investigate. I mean, it is my house, right?

Callum: Listen, this is getting ridiculous. How many people do Jaycee and Helena expect us to visit? Surely their audience know all about us by now, and then some. I moved to the middle of nowhere for a reason, you know. There is such a thing as privacy. And now they’ve dragged us halfway across the country to visit someone we don’t even know. I don’t care how charming she is *glances at Deidre* – sorry lass, nothing personal – but really, enough is enough.

Slade: Oh my gosh, Sir. The writer ladies are the ones that told us to drop this book on the coffee table and run. Why are you being so grumpy with her?  *turns puppy dog eyes on Deidre* He’s not usually like this. Really, he’s not. Well, maybe at first he is… just a little… but once you get to know him, he’s actually a really, really good man.

Callum: Grumpy? Did you just call me grumpy? I am not, and never have been grumpy. I’m just exhausted from all this running around. I want to go home, tie you up and…

Slade: I know, Sir. I’m tired too. But, to be honest, the writer ladies have done all the talking up ‘til now and wait… What?

Callum: I see I managed to get your attention.

Slade: One hundred percent of it, Sir.

Callum: Mmmm. Yes. *glances at Slade’s crotch* I see that. Unfortunately, we have another not-so-small problem. I think we’ve been left without a ride home.

Slade: *peeks outside* You mean the squealing tires was them leaving?

Callum: Yes, lad. I guess they’ve truly had enough. Think your leg is up for the long, walk home?

Slade: It wasn’t actually my leg I was worried about… Sir. *spots Deidre* Hey, maybe she’ll drive us home!

Callum: I don’t know lad, you can’t just depend on strangers to sort your problems out for you.

Slade: *grins* Well, it worked for me, Sir.

So, after Callum sweet talks me (yes, Slade was right – Callum can be a really sweet guy) into driving them to who-knows-where, I head back outside to get rid of my guests.

“Hey everybody! Sorry to say that Jaycee and Helena–nor their guys–will be stopping by in person to answer your questions. I do have it on good authority however, that any questions you should have can be found at some of their other tour stops. What I do have is more information about their book and where you can get a copy for yourself! Oh! And if you’re on Facebook, Jaycee and Helena are hijacking the Dreamspinner page at 11:00am Eastern tomorrow (March 31, 2015) for a few hours. Be sure to stop by and say hi!”

[Many thanks to Jaycee and Helena for letting me spend some alone time in a car with Callum and Slade (that brogue *swoons *) stopping by and letting me pimp out their wonderful story to you. The drive by intro above was completely my doing (with the exception of Callum and Slade’s convo–that was totally, well, Callum and Slade). The idea however, was inspired by a conversation with one of the authors. Now about Strangers in the Night…]

James Lassiter has had a crush on fellow culinary student Ethan Martin for three years, but has never had the guts to make a move. Putting himself out there is hard, especially when under the thumb–and wallet–of his overbearing parents. Now that bad boy chef Ethan–who is always vying with Jamie for best in class–is struggling with the pastry course, Jamie suddenly has a reason to reach out.

Ethan doesn’t mean to be an ass–okay, so mostly he does–but even though he’s secretly hot for Jamie, he sure as hell doesn’t want help with pastry. Ever since his dad walked out, Ethan has been the one to hold things together and he’s done fine on his own. Except that he can’t get his cake to rise.

Jamie could be the answer to what Ethan’s been missing his whole life–someone to depend on. But with the two competing for the same scholarship, things suddenly get too hot to handle. And if Jamie finds the strength to go for what he wants, he isn’t about to settle for what he needs.

UNBEARABLE by Wren Michaels

Today, I’m happy to host Wren Michaels with some wonderful information about her debut novella, UNBEARABLE!

~ ~ ~

Thank you for having me on your blog today! This is my debut novella so I’m going though ALL THE FEELS right now. A friend of mine, Evie Knight, urged me to give Evernight Publishing’s Naughty Fairytale line a try, and so the retelling of the lesser known fairytale Snow White and Rose Red was born. The first book in my SnowRose Series is Rose Red’s story. Snow White’s story will be releasing in March, entitled BAD APPLE. I appreciate the opportunity to share this with you and hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.

unnamed

Title: UNBEARABLE (The SnowRose Series, 1)

Author: Wren Michaels

Genre: Erotic/Romance/Shifter/Naughty Fairy Tale

Publisher: Evernight Publishing

Release date: February 13, 2015

What’s it about?

Rose Red will stop at nothing to protect her sister, Snow White, from suffering the same fate as their mother. She vows to kill Hestor, the evil dwarf sorcerer responsible for her death. But a twist of fate lands her on the bottom of a riverbed, and her life in the hands of a mysterious stranger.

Marcus is a beast of a man. He is a bear by day, man by night, thanks to a curse from the evil Hestor. But when he rescues Rose from an icy grave, he unleashes the real animal. Falling for her is dangerous enough, as he must protect the secret of his curse. But she may just be the key to getting his kingdom back as she breaks one spell and puts him under another.

And a yummy excerpt, you ask?

“Do you have a habit of going around saving damsels in distress, Marcus?” The coy tone in her sexy voice hardens my cock even more, evidence that I’ve not been in female company for quite some time, and it’s taking its toll.

“I don’t have many women that wander into the haunted woods in need of my rescuing. Which leads to the question, what were you doing there?” I fold my arms and stare down into her eyes.

“I don’t think that’s any of your business now, is it?” The icy aftertaste of her tone stings my ears. “While I appreciate the rescue, I should get home. My sister is waiting for me and will send out a search party if I don’t return.”

“It’ll be a mighty cold walk with no clothes,” I say, holding back the smirk climbing across my lips.

The green in her eyes darkens. “Kindly give me back my clothing and affects, sir.”

“Absolutely. Once they’re dry.” I fan my arms to the fire where I’ve laid out her soaking clothes. “It’ll take hours for them to be dry enough to wear. Besides, there’s a nasty storm brewin’ outside. A bit treacherous for you to be wandering out in, alone and at night. It would be in your best interest to stay here and let it pass. You can venture home in the morning.” My eyes lock onto hers and I pour sincerity into them in hopes she’ll reconsider my offer. “I promise, come sunrise I will leave you, and you are free to go.”

She darts her gaze between me and the fireplace. I half expect her to make a mad dash for her clothes. But she doesn’t.

“And what am I to do the rest of this eve then?” Her arms fold across her chest, pinching her breasts together.

I force my eyes away from the glorious cleavage and swallow over the lump in my throat. “Well, I assume you’ll want to sleep. After all, I would imagine killing a man would take a lot out of you physically and emotionally. Not to mention the whole falling into the river and me rescuing you.”

Her eyes widen as big as saucers. “Were you stalking me?”

“Perhaps I came upon you once or twice before.” I give an aloof shrug.

Fury blazes in her dark green eyes and it lights my cock on fire even more. Damn, she’s gorgeous when she’s feisty. It takes everything in me not to devour her plump lips with my own.

“How much do you know?” She leans in, forgetting she’s naked as her protective covering falls away from her breasts.

They stare up at me from the corner of my eye, but I’m careful not to look at them for fear she’ll cover them back up. Stunning pink nipples harden at the chill in the room. My fingers ache to rub them.

“How much should I know. I’ve never met you before, Rose. You’ve come into my woods for the past month, and each time a man is with you. But you always leave alone. And I’m left to dispose of bloodied bodies before morning. So, do I need to worry that you’ll add me to your collection?” Jutting my hands to the blanket on either side of her body, I press in closer to her on the bed, hovering just above her lips.

Quick breaths puff from her lips as she processes my words. Her eyes stay glued to mine in a glorious rage, and it stirs me inside to think of burying myself in that fury between her legs.

“Not unless you’re in league with Hestor. If you are, I suggest you run.” Her body inches closer to mine, the blankets falling even further down her body. The delicate soft skin of her stomach catches my eyes and I’m unable to look away.

“Hestor?” I repeat, as it’s the only word that sticks in my ears under the distraction of her curves.

“Are you not familiar with the dwarf sorcerer?” she asks.

“Oh. On the contrary, I’m quite familiar with Hestor. The question is, why do you seek him out?” My gaze turns back to her.

“Like what you see?” She tilts her head and swipes her lips with her tongue. “It’s yours if you lead me to him.”

I shake my head. “You truly must think me a fool if you proposition me so, dear Rose. I know that’s what you offer the targets in your game. You tease them with the reward of your body, yet you get them alone in the woods and take their lives. You cannot seduce me in this way.”

“Am I repulsive to you?” her voice notches up an octave.

“You, Rose Red are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever had the pleasure to lay my eyes upon. But I think you should know our interest in Hestor may be of a similar nature and perhaps we could strike a deal.” I ease off her and fold my arms.

“What do you want with him? His magicks are dark and bring only evil.” Her blazing eyes darken, studying me with intent.

I lean in, pressing my chest against hers as I hover above her face. “I have my reasons, as I know you do yours. They are not of your concern. What we both agree on is that he must be eliminated. No?”

“Your towel seems to have come lose,” she whispers.

My brow quirks. “How would you know?” I think she’s trying to distract me, but I won’t fall for her games. “Your eyes haven’t left mine.”

“Because I’m the one who loosened it.” Her warm hand wraps around my cock, forcing a gasp from my lungs. My head yells at me to jump back, but the sensation of her fingers gripping tight to my flesh wipe all logical thought from my mind. I make the mistake of glancing down, aching to watch her hand stroke my length. It’s the last thing I see before she knocks me cold.

Filthy Marcellos: Lucian

Book One in the Filthy Marcellos Trilogy

Genre: Contemporary, Erotic Romance, Organized Crime, Suspense

Length: 98k, full length

Release Date: February 2nd, 2015

Blurb:

Lucian Marcello is aware of the expectations following him as the oldest son of one of North America’s most infamous Cosa Nostra Dons. Family in his world is more than blood and sharing a last name. It’s the honor, respect, business, and the life. Being a Capo is just a stepping stone until it’s time for him to take on the role of underboss but a chance meeting with her could be the one thing he’d risk it all for.

She is exactly what he didn’t know he was looking for.

Jordyn Reese spends her time trying to stay under the radar of a man who wouldn’t think twice about killing her. Unwillingly affiliated with a dangerous MC gang, her life is dominated by the men surrounding her and her future rests solely in how useful she can be for them. The last thing she needs is some Mafioso gaining her more unwanted attention from the club.

He is everything she should stay away from but can’t.

Notoriously violent when it comes to getting what he wants, Lucian will stop at nothing to make the target on Jordyn’s back disappear. But sometimes the worst threats are the ones you can’t see until it’s too late. The truth behind Lucian’s history is about to take center stage in more ways than one, and it’ll either save him … or kill him.

This world leaves everyone a little filthy.

Excerpt:

Out of the corners of his eyes, Lucian did see part of her bare shoulder and the black curls hiding her face, though. It wasn’t so much the amount of flesh she was showing as it was the peeks of what looked like a cherry blossom tattoo crawling over her shoulder and dipping down her back where it disappeared from his sight.

“Hello, guys. I’m Jordyn. I’ll be serving you tonight, or something close to it. What’ll it be?”

The sultry tone of her voice was something Lucian and his body noticed the moment she spoke. It was almost like a mixture of innocence and experience, if that were possible. She didn’t sound entirely bored, but she didn’t sound like she was in it to win it with her job, either.

Dante looked to his father, his earlier comment about not consuming the drinks being silently said again. Antony must have took note.

“A bottle of Jack, unopened. Four—” Antony stopped up short, his lips tugging down into a frown as he passed a glance towards Gio. The youngest brother certainly didn’t need to be drinking tonight. “Make that three glasses. We’ll pour.”

Leaning forward was the worst mistake Lucian made since waking up that day. He certainly hadn’t expected to see her again. At least not in a place like this. She was on his mind all damned week, those eyes of hers, cream-like flesh, and a mouth that just at the sight alone, make his own water.

What’d she call herself? Jordyn, was it?

Merda.

Shit was right—he was in so much of it.

Suddenly, Lucian was not in the zone like he needed to be.

He was so incredibly fucked.

Also, Lucian realized he was right about his first assumption when he thought she had ink under her dress that day at the confessional box. Cherry blossoms started somewhere beneath the lace and leather bottoms she wore and trailed up over her side, before crossing over her left breast which was also covered by nothing but a lace and leather brassiere, and then curved over her shoulder.

There was another tattoo, too, but in the darkness, Lucian couldn’t read the scripted words.

Strangely, the immediate rush of possessiveness that flooded his veins surprised him. She was still so beautiful, like crazy. The more skin his gaze crawled over, the tighter his pants became. Lucian caught himself wondering what those blossoms would taste like under his tongue.

Yeah, he was not where he needed to be. This unknown woman knocked him off kilter and she probably didn’t even know it. What was wrong with him?

Unfortunately, his father seemed to realize his son’s abrupt change in posture and mood. “Lucian?”

At the sound of his name, the girl’s—Jordyn, he reminded himself—eyes flashed to meet his in the corner, those dark lashes of hers blinking rapidly like she also didn’t believe what she was seeing. Lucian swallowed the thickness building in his throat. Thankfully, Jordyn didn’t act like they had ever met or seen one another before. She simply went on doing her own business.

“Unopened bottle of Jack and three glasses. Anything else?” she asked, avoiding Lucian’s piercing gaze.

“Yes,” Antony said, still watching Lucian closely. “The owner is Ron Daney, correct?”

Jordyn stood a little stiffer, her shoulders squaring. “I beg your pardon?”

“The owner is Ron Daney, Vice President of the Brooklyn chapter of The Sons of Hell,” Lucian said gruffly, trying to swallow back the huskiness forming. “We’re not ATF or the feds, let’s just be clear on that, sweetheart. Ron, he’s in tonight, yes?”

Jordyn nodded warily. “Always is.”

“Good,” Antony replied with a grin. “Send him a drink, whatever he likes. Do be sure to tell him it’s

from a guest. Antony Marcello and his crew. Do not mistake my name when you tell him. Be sure to point me out so he sees me. Understood?”

“Got it.”

With that, the woman Lucian simply needed to glance at to turn his skin ablaze and his heart stuttering, was walking away.

She didn’t look back.

Marin is a cursed merman. He once walked the streets of Atlantis where he found his true love, he now swims—alone. He is offered a way out of his curse and into the heart of another. But will he be able to love another as he did his true love?

Marley’s a loner.  He’s a treasure hunter who fantasized about mermen. He’d always felt a little out of place, always searching for something, and wanting nothing more than to belong to someone completely.

Between them are several lifetimes and a wicked sorceress bent on possession. Is a soul deep connection enough to bring them together to break a curse that was never meant to be broken?

Excerpt

“Marin? Do you believe in fate? In reincarnation?”

“Reincarnation?”

“Past lives. The soul living beyond the death of one body into another.”

“Ah, yes. Transmigration. As it so happens, I do. Why do you ask?”

Marley sighed, flexing his fingers ever so slightly. Just enough to barely touch Marin’s. “I think I may have known you then. From before.”

“I think so too, Marley.” Marin held his breath momentarily before he continued. This was the time. This was it. “Aeëtes, his eyes—although everyone in his family had eyes as dark as the night sky, my Aeëtes’ eyes were a striking blue. As blue as the Aegean Sea or a sky on a clear winter’s day. With one exception. His right eye was two colors. Partly the beautiful blue, but like a wave lapping the shore, the blue met with a golden brown.”

Marley’s breath caught as Marin described eyes that were identical to his own. Even down to how his parents’ eyes were of a drastically different color. No one could ever explain why there was such a difference; they just accepted it as part of who Marley was. “Like mine.” It was barely a whisper, but enough for Marin to hear.

“Yes, just like yours.”
