I don’t usually make new year’s resolutions. Let’s face it, by month two–if you’ve made it that far–most of us are already slacking a little, or making some sort of “just this once” exception.
However, this year, I’ve decided to do something different. I saw a meme floating around one of the social media timelines about having an empty jar, and every day writing down something positive about that day and putting it in the jar. Considering my impending move–even though it will most likely be local–I didn’t want to have another piece of property to worry about packing and moving. So I’m going to twist it just a little and share my positives on social media. Twitter (maybe facebook, too–I’m not sure) will be my positive jar. Also, I intend to produce a helluva lot more words, and not just for lectures, either. Promise!
I’m a little behind already, seeing as I didn’t start this until today and the day is almost over, so here are two happies for the past two day: for Jan. 1, I spent some time on the beach; listening to the waves roll in with a book in my hand and my toes in the sand. Today, Jan. 2, there were a series of moments–pure laughter at a sticker exchange between myself and my most favorite unicorn ever, Eileen.
Dammit, Effie! Must you always jump in?
Happy New Year, everyone! I wish you all love, laughter, good health, and reaching at least one goal you thought was out of reach. Be vast and fierce, and make this year yours!
